The body of an 18-year-old girl has been recovered this evening following extensive searches.
Earlier today gardai issued a missing person appeal for young Jacinta Hand who had been missing from Navan, Co Meath since Saturday.
Both her family and gardai had previously said they were concerned for her welfare.
Sadly gardai said searches have been stood down after a body was recovered from the River Boyne in Navan this evening.
A garda spokesman said: "Following the recovery of a body from the River Boyne in Navan, Co. Meath, the missing person search for Jacinta Hand has been stood down."
