Body recovered from Portishead Marina

A body has been recovered from Portishead Quays Marina. Police have confirmed that the body was discovered this afternoon (February 5).

Although formal identification has not yet been completed, police believe the body to be that of a missing man. The man was reported missing on Saturday (February 4).

His family have been informed. Police are now seeking a woman who may be able to help with the investigation.

A statement from Avon and Somerset Constabulary reads: "At this time we are treating the man's death as unexplained, albeit we have found no evidence to suggest the circumstances are suspicious. Officers will be carrying out enquiries on behalf of the coroner.

"To help with the completion of these enquiries, we'd ask a woman who we understand saw the man walking near the marina at 12.30am yesterday morning to contact us on 101 and give the call-handler reference number 5223028038."
