Body pulled from water at Loch Lomond Shores

A body has been recovered from Loch Lomond Shores, police have confirmed.

Rescue crews were alerted to the discovery at around 5.50pm last night after a member of the public spotted a body floating in the water near Balloch.

Police are currently treating the death of the 50-year-old man as 'unexplained'.

A spokesperson for the rescue crew confirmed to Daily Record: "At 5.50pm on June 4, 2020, Loch Lomond Rescue Boat were paged with a report of a person in the water in the area near to Lomond Shores.

"On arrival at the location the person had already been removed from the water by a member of the public however tragically the male had died.

"Assistance was then provided to Police Scotland. All the thoughts of the crew and committee are with his family at this very sad time."

A Police Scotland spokesperson told Glasgow Live: "Around 5.30pm on Thursday, 4 June, 2020, the body of a 50-year-old man was discovered in the water near to Loch Lomond Shores, in Balloch, West Dumbartonshire.

"Following enquiries, his death is being treated as unexplained but not suspicious.

"A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
