Body pulled from the water after search for missing man

A body was recovered from the River Dee by teams searching for a missing man.

According to police, the 52-year-old was reported missing from his boat off Greenfield Docks, Flintshire, on Friday (August 28) at around 6.30pm.

His boat was discovered by rescue teams that night, but his body remained missing until the following day.

Officers involved in the search confirmed the body of a male has since been pulled from the water, reported North Wales Live.

No formal identification has taken place, but his next of kin have been informed.

A spokesman for North Wales Police said on Saturday: "Emergency Services searching for a man reported missing from his boat on the River Dee off Greenfield Docks in Flintshire at around 6.30pm on Friday, August 28, have sadly recovered a body from the river this afternoon.

"The boat was recovered last night.

"The North East Wales coroner has also been informed."
