Body pulled from River Clyde in search for missing Derek Beattie

Cops have pulled a body from the River Clyde in the search for missing man Derek Beattie.

The tragic discovery was made at around 2:55pm on Tuesday, December 21.

Officers were called to the river, near to Clydebank Leisure Centre, on Aurora Avenue.

Formal identification is yet to take place, however the family of Derek Beattie has been informed.

The 39-year-old had been reported missing from the Harthill area on Saturday, 27 November.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "There are no apparent suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course."
