Body pulled from Lake Michigan near 49th Street Beach

A body was pulled from Lake Michigan Oct. 21, 2021, on the South Side. | Sun-Times file

The body of a man was pulled from Lake Michigan Thursday morning near 49th Street Beach on the South Side.

A person who was walking in the area noticed the body floating in the lake just before 9 a.m. in the 4900 block of South Lake Shore Drive, according to Chicago police.

Crews were called and removed the body from the water, police said. The man has not been identified.

Area One detectives are investigating.
