Body pulled from Glasgow canal as emergency services remain at scene in Maryhill

A body has been pulled from the water at Maryhill Locks in Glasgow this afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the scene at about 1.05pm today and Police Scotland recovered the body from the canal.

Officers remain at the scene as enquiries continue into the incident.

Police have confirmed the death but have not revealed the gender of the person discovered.

A police spokesman said: "Around 1.05pm on Sunday, 23 January, officers were called to Maryhill Locks near Maryhill Road, Glasgow.

“A body has been recovered from the water and police enquiries are ongoing.”
