Body pulled from Firth of Forth as police probe unexplained death

Emergency services have raced to a Scots beach this morning after a body was discovered in the water.

Police scrambled to the Esplanade area of Kirkcaldy in Fife after the grim discovery was made.

Officers have sealed off the scene while enquiries are being carried out.

Police have cordoned off the scene following the incident (Fife Jammer Locations)

Pictures from the town show a cordoned off area, with several officers in attendance.

At least two police vehicles can be seen in shot as well as an ambulance with blue flashing lights on.

The death is currently being treated as unexplained.

Emergency crews remain at the scene.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers are currently in attendance in the Esplanade area of Kirkcaldy following the discovery of a body within the water.

"The death is currently being treated as unexplained and emergency services remain at the scene."
