Body pulled from canal in Glasgow after emergency services rush to scene

Emergency services were called to a canal this morning after a body was found in the water.

A member of the public reported a body in the water near Applecross Street in the north area of Glasgow.

Police say they are not treating the death as suspicious.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called around 9am on Wednesday, 12 August, to a report of a body in the canal near Applecross Street in Glasgow, which was subsequently recovered.

“The death is not being treated as suspicious. As with all sudden deaths, a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
