Human body parts found stuffed in bag as police probe 'suspicious' death

An investigation has been launched after body parts were found in a bag in Dublin.

The alarm was raised shortly before 10pm when what are understood to be human limbs were found in a bag outside houses at the junction of Moatview Gardens and Drive.

Gardai sealed off the area, with the discovery said to have been made by youths.

It is understood two arms and a leg were found, but the torso is yet to be located.

The whereabouts of the head are also unknown.

The investigation is still at a very early stage, but gardai are treating the discovery as suspicious.

Gardai sealed off an area of Moatview in Coolock, north  Dublin  after the grim discovery (Irish Mirror WS)

"Local scenes of crime officers are currently examining the scene which has been sealed off," a spokesman said.

'Investigations are ongoing.

"No further information is available at this time."

A source  told Dublin Live  the find was "very sinister".

A source told the Irish Sun: A source said: “It is very early days in the investigation but a find like this is very ­suspicious.”

While a local resident said: “This is just awful. But you expect anything nowadays with all the feuds.”

Police have said the Dublin City Coroner has been notified and the services of the State Pathologist have been requested.
