Drawn from the gallery’s own collection, this photographic exhibition presents works on four overlapping themes: the performative and fertile body; the body in extremis; the classical body and the abject body.
It features works by Australian and international artists that look at photography’s ability to communicate the body. Although the individual images present fragmented sections of the body; put together, they convey a wider whole of the body in movement and in stillness.
Artists featured in the exhibition include David Bailey, Ruth Bernhard, Robert Besanko, Jamie Bradbeer, Jane Burton, Paul Cox, Lynn Davis, Max Dupain and more.
