Body of young man found in Scots flat as police launch probe

A probe has been launched after a man's body was found in a Scots flat.

The body of the 24-year-old was found in a flat on Union Street in Montrose, Angus at around 6.20pm on Friday January 8.

A police presence is still in the area as officers continue their investigation into the grim find.

Police say the death is unexplained but that there are no suspicious circumstances.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Around 6.20 pm on Friday, 8 January, 2021, the body of a 24-year-old man was found within a flat in Union Street, Montrose.

"Police are treating his death which at this time police are treating as unexplained but not suspicious.

"A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
