Body of young man found at home after police called out to report of 'sudden death'

The body of a young man was discovered at a house by emergency services this weekend.

Police were called to a home in Hoghton Avenue, Bacup, near Rochdale, on Sunday at around 4.40pm.

They had received reports of a 'sudden death' and were called to the scene by paramedics.

When officers arrived they found the body of a man in his 20s, LancsLive reports.

His death is not being treated as suspicious.

A file has been sent by the police to the coroner.

A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said: "We were called around 4.40pm on Sunday (October 3) by the Ambulance Service following a sudden death in Bacup.

"Officers attended an address in Hoghton Avenue where the body of a man was found.

"The man, aged in his 20s, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

"The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file has been passed to the coroner.

"Our thoughts are with the man’s family and friends at this sad and difficult time."
