The body of a woman has been found near the River Shannon this evening.
The grim discovery was made near the power station at Ardnacrusha in Co Limerick.
The deceased is believed to have been aged in her 60s.
It is reported a group of schoolchildren found the woman.
Gardai are attending the scene tonight and a post mortem is due to take place tomorrow.
A Garda spokeswoman said: "Gardai are at the scene of an incident at the River Shannon, Ardnacrusha, Co. Limerick this evening the 5th of April 2019.

"The State Pathologist has been notified and a full PM is due to take place tomorrow morning the 6th of April 2019.
"The post mortem will dictate the course of the investigation."
