Body of woman found in Scots park as police probe 'unexplained' death

A probe has been launched after the 'unexplained' death of a woman in a Scots village

Emergency crews were called to the Kinneddar Park area of Saline, around five miles from Dunfermline in Fife, at 4.50pm today.

Cops were responding to concerns for a woman.

A 57-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

It is unclear if the grim discovery was made in the park or surrounding area.

Locals online have reported seeing a large police presence in the area with an ambulance also spotted.

Some said that officers had been seen taping off an area.

A Police Scotland spokesman said the death was being treated as 'unexplained'.

He said: "We were made aware of concern for a woman at Kinneddar Park area of Saline shortly after 4.50pm on Wednesday, 10 March.

"Emergency services attended but the 57-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

"Her death is being treated as unexplained but non-suspicious. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course."

The Scottish Ambulance Service was contacted for comment.
