Body of woman found in Glasgow as police probe 'unexplained' death

Police are probing the 'unexplained' death of a woman in Glasgow.

Officers were called to Rye Road in the Barmulloch area at around 12.10pm on Sunday.

The alarm was raised after the body of a 50-year-old woman was discovered at the scene.

Locals claimed that police were still guarding a house on Rye Road at around 9.30pm.

The death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are 'at an early stage', according to police.

A spokesman from the force confirmed the tragic incident on Monday morning.

He told the Record: “We were called to Rye Road, Glasgow, around 12.10pm following the death of a 50-year-old woman.

“The death is currently being treated as unexplained and enquiries are at an early stage.”
