Body of woman, 60s, found at house in Castleknock

Gardai are investigating after the discovery of a body at a house in west Dublin.

The woman's remains were found on the ground floor of a house in the Carpenterstown area of Castleknock, locals said.

Gardai will have to wait for results of a post-mortem examination to establish how the woman died and it will determine the course of its probe.

Cops are working to make contact with the woman's relatives.

They will conduct door-to-door enquiries to find out when she was last seen alive.

A garda spokesperson told Dublin Live: "Gardai are investigating all the circumstances following the discovery of a body of a woman in her 60s at a property in Carpenterstown, Dublin 15, at approximately 10am this morning, Tuesday 4th April 2023.

"Her body has been removed to Dublin City Mortuary where a post-mortem will take place, the results of which will determine the course of the investigation."
