Body of ‘unbelievably thin’ Staffordshire bull terrier found in Scots park

The dead body of a Staffordshire bull terrier has been discovered in a Lanarkshire park.

The tragic discovery was made in Carstairs Junction on Wednesday, April 29, by a shocked member of the public.

The animal, which was black with a white chest and left front paw, was described as “unbelievably thin” with its ribs visible.

The sad discovery has since been reported to the Scottish SPCA who told the Daily Record that they are investigating.

A spokesperson said: “Scottish SPCA inspector, Emma Sergeant, said, “We can confirm that we have been contacted about this incident.

“As this is an ongoing investigation we are unable to comment further at this time.

“If anyone recognises this dog or has any further information they should call our confidential animal helpline on 03000 999 999.”
