Body of nine year old boy discovered in house as police launch probe

The body of a nine-year-old boy has been discovered at a house sparking a police investigation.

The boy was found unresponsive at a home in the St. Johnston area of east Donegal, Ireland, on Monday night and was pronounced dead a short time later.

The child’s remains were transported to Letterkenny University Hospital where a post mortem will be carried out.

The outcome of that post mortem will determine the course of any further investigation by Gardai Police, RSVP Live reports.

A Garda spokesperson said "Gardaí received a report of the death of male child, 9 years, that occurred at a house in the St. Johnston area of Donegal on 14/06/2021.

The child’s remains were transported to Letterkenny University Hospital ("irishphotos@mirror.co.uk" )

"The child was pronounced dead at the scene after being found unresponsive.

"He has been removed to Letterkenny Hospital where a post mortem will take place, the results of which will determine the course of any further investigation."
