The body of a young Dublin mother who was tragically found in the latter days of 2020 has been named locally.
Tallaght native and mum-of-one April O'Brien sadly died in homeless services at the end of December and was described as a "beautiful young girl" who was "quiet and never asked for much".
It took the number of homeless deaths in Dublin for 2020 to sixty people in what was one of the most concerning years on our streets ever.
The Tallaght mum will be sadly missed by her son Callen and parents Mags and Peter as well as her brother Peter and a wide circle of friends and family.
People who came across April in homeless services said she was an "absolute sweetheart" who would do "anything for anyone".
One person said: "R.I.P beautiful April O'Brien, you were such a beautiful young girl may you get the best bed in heaven, an absolute sweetheart."
A second said: "Can't believe it. I was only talking to you not so long ago, April. A lovely girl. May you get the best bed up there. Something needs to be done for all the homeless people. It's just not right, so many deaths."
April became the second homeless person to die in Dublin in the space of a week in a horrific end to the year in the capital.
Young man Michael Mois was discovered in Phoenix Park on December 23rd.
