Body of missing Scots nurse Jacqueline Watson found in woods

Police have found the body of a Scots mum four days after she went missing.

Jacqueline Watson was found dead in a wooded area of Sauchie in Clackmannanshire this morning after a desperate bid by her worried family to find her.

Sergeant Iain Duncan from Alloa police station confirmed the 52-year-old nurse's death is not being treated as suspicious.

He said: "I want to take this opportunity to extend my deepest condolences to Jacqueline's family at this time. We will continue to provide them with all the relevant support and assistance they may require.

"I'd also like to thank members of the public who assisted with our appeal or came forward with information, which we progressed as part of our inquiries."

Jacqueline's son Andrew had taken to social media after she was last seen at 9am last Friday.

In Facebook post he said she left home without her glasses, mobile phone or any money.

His post explained: "Her mental state currently is not good, myself and my family are worried sick and desperate for any leads to finding her.

"Myself and my family are desperate for your help to return this wonderful mum and amazing nurse to safety."

A report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.
