Body of missing NSW woman found

A body believed to be that of a woman who went missing in NSW's Riverina region has been found. (AAP)

A body believed to be that of an elderly woman who went missing in the NSW Riverina region last month has been found.

The 83-year-old woman was last seen at a home in Leeton on May 28 and was reported missing on Tuesday.

Officers from Murrumbidgee Police District found the body in Whitton, about 20km from Leeton, on Wednesday morning.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
