A body has been discovered in the search for missing man Darren McIntosh.
A search was launched for Darren, 48, who was reported missing from Castle Douglas on Thursday, August 22.
Police have now confirmed they found a body, which they believe to be Darren, in marshland near to Castle Douglas yesterday.
His next of kin are aware, however formal identification has yet to take place.
Cops say his death is being treated as unexplained.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "The body of a man was discovered yesterday afternoon in marshland near Castle Douglas .
"Officers are linking this to the ongoing search for missing man Darren McIntosh, who was reported missing from the town on Thursday, 22 August 2019.
"Although formal identification has not yet taken place, Darren's next of kin are aware of this development.
"The death is being treated as unexplained at this time.
"The procurator fiscal has been informed."
