Body of missing man found in popular walking spot

The body of a missing man has been found just outside Greater Manchester. Mountain rescue teams say they were called out yesterday to the Shire Hill area of Glossop, with a body found shortly after.

Glossop Mountain Rescue were called by Derbyshire Police to search the Shire Hill walking spot yesterday (Thursday, April 21) to assist in the search for a missing person. The body of a missing male was found shortly afterwards.

A post from Glossop Mountain Rescue Team said: "Yesterday the team was asked to assist Derbyshire Police in a search of the Shire Hill area of Glossop for missing person. Tragically, the body of a male was found shortly after the search commenced.

"All members of Glossop Mountain Rescue Team would like to offer our sincere condolences to the family and friends at this difficult time." Derbyshire Police have been approached for more information.
