Body of missing man found in Bridgend village

The body of a Bridgend man who was reported missing has been found. South Wales Police confirmed a body discovered in Nantymoel by a member of the public has formally been identified as Carl Cresswell.

Mr Cresswell, 47, was last seen at work on May 9. Police believe that Mr Cresswell drove his car to Neath at around 6pm on Monday, then cycled to the Bridgend area.

Officers have confirmed that the body found in Nantymoel on Wednesday afternoon has been formally identified as that of Mr Cresswell. A South Wales Police statement read: "The body of a man was found by a member of the public in Nantymoel yesterday afternoon. Formal identification has taken place, and we can confirm it to be that of Carl Cresswell, who was reported missing from his home in Bridgend recently. His death is is not being treated as suspicious and the Coroner has been informed. His family are aware and are being supported."
