Body of missing man found at Airdrie farmland

A body found near farmland in Plains yesterday has been identified as that of missing Bellshill man Thomas Faulds.

Police officers made the discovery on Sunday afternoon, and relatives of Mr Faulds, 52, have been informed.

There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death, and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 2.15pm on Sunday, December 20, officers searching for a missing man discovered the body of a man near farmland in the Plains area of Airdrie..

“He has been identified as Thomas Faulds and his family has been informed.

“There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and a full report will be forwarded to the Procurator Fiscal.”
