Body of missing hillwalker is found in Scots Loch

The body of a missing Scots hillwalker has been recovered from the Loch where she was last seen near.

Isabel Wilson, 78, was reported missing earlier today after she set out to walk in the Primrose Hill area beside Loch Katrine in Culligart, Stirling.

The hillwalker's body was recovered earlier this evening.

Her family have been informed about the discovery.

The 78-year-old was described as a keen hillwalker and had last been seen on the south shore of Loch Katrine near to Royal Cottage between 2pm and 3pm today.

However, police confirmed that they had found her body in Loch Katrine.

They said in a statement: "The body of missing hillwalker Isabel Wilson (78), was recovered from Loch Katrine a short while ago.

"Her family have been informed. There are no suspicious circumstances.

"Thanks to everyone who shared our post."

Tributes were paid to Isabel online, with many well-wishers paying their condolences to her and her family.

One commented: "Awww bless her , that’s sad."

Another added: "Oh no what a shame thoughts are with all her family and friends."
