Body of missing canoeist found on Lake Alexandrina

The body of a man who went missing during a canoe trip on South Australia's Lake Alexandrina has been found six days after searches began.

The 31-year-old man from Brahma Lodge in Adelaide's north was one of two people reported missing near Milang, about 15 kilometres from the Murray Mouth.

The pair had set off in an inflatable canoe on the lower lake on Friday morning.

The other man, a 19-year-old from from Elizabeth Vale, was "miraculously" found floating in the water on Friday afternoon.

He was treated by SA Ambulance crews for hypothermia at the scene.

SA Police resumed their search of Lake Alexandrina this morning for the missing man, with Water Operations Unit and Sea Rescue Squadron using jetskis and hovercraft.

The man's body was found just after 11:00am in reeds off Lake Reserve Road at Mulgundawa, about 25 kilometres north-east of Milang.

Police thanked local volunteers who joined the search and will now prepare a report for the coroner.
