Body of man in his 40s found in Bury pub

A man's body has been found at a pub in Bury.

Police say they discovered the body at The Victoria, in Hall Street, Walshaw, on Sunday afternoon.

The man, who was in his 40s, is believed to have been staying as a guest at the pub.

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said investigations had revealed nothing suspicious about the incident.

"Police were called around 12:15pm on Sunday, August 2, to a report that the body of a man had been found in a property on Hall Street in Tottington," they said.

"Emergency services attended and sadly found the body of a man believed to be in his 40s.

"There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances and a file will be passed to the coroner."

The identity of the man has yet to be publicly released.

Lisa Moore, a manager at The Victoria, added: "It is true that a man's body was found at the pub on Sunday.

"Our thoughts and condolences are with the family. It's a really sad time."
