Body of man found near River Clyde as police launch 'unexplained' death probe

The body of a man has been found near the River Clyde.

Emergency crews were called to the scene close to Kingston Place, in the Dalmarnock area, at around 6.25am this morning, reports the Daily Record.

The man’s death is currently being treated as ‘unexplained’ however police do not believe there are any suspicious circumstances.

Residents were warned to expect an increased police presence in the area ,but that there was no risk to the wider public.

A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

A spokesman for Police Scotland said: "Police were called around 6.25am on Monday, July 5, following a report of a sudden death of a man near Kingston Place, Glasgow.

"The death is being treated as unexplained at this time but there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.

"A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
