Body of man found inside Eccles house with large police cordon in place

The body of a man has been discovered inside a property in Eccles.

Police were called to an address on Cook Street just before 7.30am this morning on Tuesday (June 22).

It came following a report of concern for the welfare of a man.

Officers attended the scene and found a body inside the property.

Enquiries are ongoing and police remain in the area, a spokesman for GMP said.

A cordon spanning two streets is currently in place.

Cook Street and Madeira Place have been taped off by officers and crime scene investigators are in attendance.

Members of the public are advised to avoid the area.

In a statement, GMP said: “At around 7.26am this morning (Tuesday 22 June) police were called to a report of a concern for welfare of a man at an address on Cook Street, Salford.

“Officers attended and sadly the body of a man was found inside the property.

“Enquiries are ongoing and officers remain at the scene.”
