Body of man found in stream in Scots park as police launch investigation

A police investigation has been launched after the body of a man was found in a stream in a Fife town earlier today.

Officers from Police Scotland have sealed off part of Pittencrieff Park in Dunfermline to allow the probe to take place.

It is thought the grim find was made by a member of the public early this morning, July 5.

Emergency services raced to the scene after the alarm was raised. They are still at the scene.

Police Scotland say enquiries into the death are currently ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “At around 6.45am on Sunday, 5 July, officers were called to Pittencrieff Park, Dunfermline, after the body of a man was found in a stream.

"Emergency services remain at the scene and enquiries are ongoing.”
