Body of man found on road in Drogheda, Co Louth

The body of a man has been found on a road in Co Louth, gardai have confirmed.

The grim discovery was made in the River Boyne off the Baltray Road, the R167, between Queensborough and Baltray in Drogheda on Sunday.

The scene has been sealed off this afternoon.

It's believed the discovery is not linked to the investigation into the death of Keane Mulready-Woods.

A spokeswoman said: "Gardaí in Drogheda are investigating all the circumstances following the discovery of a body on Baltray Road, near Termonfeckin, Co. Louth at approximately 1pm today, Sunday 19th January, 2020.

"The body of a man (age unknown) was removed from the scene to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda.

"A post mortem is scheduled to take place in due course and the results of which, will determine the course of the investigation."
