A police probe has been launched after a man’s body was found in the River Kelvin.
Emergency services were called to the scene near Gorstan Place, Glasgow, at around 4.35pm on Saturday.
The grim discovery is understood to have been made by a man fishing in the area who quickly raised the alarm.
Police closed off a nearby bridge while the 47-year-old man’s body was pulled from the water.
Officers are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the man’s death.
His next of kin have been informed.
A police spokesperson said: “At around 4:35pm on Saturday 15 August, emergency services attended at the River Kelvin, near to Gorstan Place, after reports of a body in the water.
“The body of a 47-year-old man was recovered.
“His next of kin have been informed and enquiries are ongoing.”
Meanwhile, a search of the River Clyde remains ongoing after a 44-year-old man got into difficulty in Uddingston.
