Body of man found in Cumbernauld flat as cops probe 'unexplained' death

Police have launched a probe into the death of a 30-year-old man after his body was found in a Scots property.

Officers raced to Springfield Road in Cumbernauld on Wednesday, June 9 at around 11pm after reports of concern for a person.

The force confirmed the discovery of a body inside the flat.

An investigation has been launched and enquiries are ongoing, with the death currently being treated as "unexplained".

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers were called to a property on Springfield Road in Cumbernauld around 11pm on Wednesday 9 June following a concern for person call by a member of the public.

"On arrival, officers found the body of a 30-year-old man within. The death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing."
