Body of man found in Coatbridge "grass land" as police launch probe

POLICE are treating the death of a man found dead in a “grassy area” of Coatbridge at the weekend as “unexplained”.

Officers fled to the scene near Dundyvan Road after receiving calls from members of the public following the tragic discovery at around 7.40am on Sunday.

The area surrounding nearby Langloan Street was subsequently cordoned off by police.

A probe into the death has now been launched, with officers refusing to rule out suspicious circumstances.

A spokesperson for the force said: “At around 7.40am [on Sunday], police received a report a man’s body had been discovered on a grassy area near to Dundyvan Road, Coatbridge.

“The death is currently being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances.”
