Body of man found by Marks and Spencer in Swansea city centre

The body of a 54-year-old man has been discovered in a lane next to Marks and Spencer in Swansea City Centre.

Police are investigating the sudden death following the discovery in the lane off Oxford Street at around 8.40am today (Saturday May 4).

Officers have taped off the lane between Marks and Spencer and What! Stores, formerly British Home Stores.

A South Wales Police spokesman said: "Police in Swansea are investigating the sudden death of a 54-year-old man whose body was discovered at around 8.40am today in the Oxford Street area of the city.

"The death is not believed to be suspicious. Steps are being taken to contact the next of kin of the deceased and HM Coroner has been informed."
