Cops are investigating after a man was found dead at a Glasgow beauty spot.

Jerry Omogieva, 23, was found in the Cuningar Loop Woodland Park, Downiebrae Road on Friday, July 17.

Officers are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen him before his death.

Police are treating the death as non-suspicious but are appealing for information.

Detective Inspector Gordon Sneddon said: “We would like to speak to anyone who may have seen Jerry between 8.30pm and 10pm either in the park or the surrounding area.”

Jerry is described as black, 5ft 10ins, of slim build with black dreadlocks.

At the time he was wearing dark clothing and was carrying a rucksack.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police Scotland can confirm that the body of a 23-year-old man was recovered from the River Clyde on Saturday, 18 July, 2020.

"The death is being treated as unexplained pending the results of a post mortem, but there are no suspicious circumstances.

"A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."

Anyone with information can contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident 4250 of Friday, July 17, 2020.
