Body of man found after police called to park near Bolton health centre

The body of a man in his 30s has been found in Leverhulme Park, Bolton.

Police were spotted parked outside Tonge Fold Health Centre on Hilton Street, near Tonge Cemetery, early this morning (Monday).

Officers say they were called just before 8am after somebody reported finding a man's body in the park.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

His family have been informed of the incident.

In a statement, a spokesperson for GMP said there was no evidence of suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.

They said: "Officers were called around 7.55am today (Monday 17 May 2021) to Leverhulme Park, Bolton to a report of a male found deceased.

"Emergency services attended and a man in his 30s was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

"There are believed to be no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death and next-of-kin have been informed.

"A file will be prepared for the coroner."
