Body of man discovered on Welsh beach

The body of a man has been found on a Welsh beach.

Police were called to the Llansteffan area of Carmarthenshire on Friday morning after reports that a body had been discovered on the beach.

The man, who was in his 70s, has not been named, but his next of kin have been informed of the discovery.

As well as officers from Dyfed-Powys Police, coastguard teams were also in attendance at the scene.

A spokesman for Dyfed-Powys Police said: “We were called at around 7am today (Friday, August 20) after the body of a man, aged in his 70s, was found on Llansteffan Beach.

“There are not believed to be suspicious circumstances. His family have been informed.”
