Body of man, 52, found in Kilmarnock street

The body of a man has been discovered in a Kilmarnock street.

Police have confirmed that a 52-year-old was found at around 8.20pm on Tourhill Road in the town.

A post mortem will be carried out in due course to determine the cause of death but officers say that it is not being treated as suspicious.

Police cars and an ambulance raced to the scene last night with part of the street taped off, one eyewitness says.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Around 8.20pm on Monday, February 3, the body of a 52-year-old man was found on Tourhill Road, Kilmarnock.

"A post mortem examination will be carried out in due course to establish the exact cause of death, which officers are not currently treating as suspicious.

"A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal."
