A 50-year-old male was tragically pronounced dead at the scene after police were called following "concern" for him.

He was discovered in the North Ayrshire town's Walkerston Avenue on Sunday night. Police say there do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We can confirm that officers were called to the Walkerston Avenue area of Largs, around 5.30pm on Sunday, July 4 following concern for a 50-year-old man.

"The Scottish Ambulance Service attended and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

"Enquiries have been carried out and there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.

"As with all sudden deaths, a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal."
