The body of a 44-year-old man has been found in the Slieve Bloom Mountains in Co Laois.
His remains were found around 1pm on Tuesday, February 4 in an area known as The Cut in Clonaslee.
The man's body had been taken to the Midlands Regional Hospital, Portlaoise where the State Pathologist will carry out a post-mortem today.
A spokesperson for An Garda Siochana told The Irish Daily Mirror that gardai are investigating all circumstances following the discovery.
They added: "Enquires are ongoing and the course of investigation will be determined by the outcome of the post-mortem."
