The body of a man in his 30s has been found near an apartment block in Letterkenny, Co Donegal.
A passerby made the tragic discovery close to the Riverside Apartments on Sunday evening at about 5pm.
Part of Letterkenny's Main Street was closed off by gardai to facilitate a technical examination of the scene.
The man's body was removed and taken to Letterkenny University Hospital.
The State Pathologist's office has been notified and a post-mortem will take place later today.
A garda spokesperson told The Irish Daily Mirror: "Gardaí in Letterkenny Co Donegal are investigating all the circumstances surrounding the discovery of the body of a man in his early 30s at Riverside View, Lower Main St, Letterkenny at approximately 5pm, Sunday, January 26, 2020.
"The man’s body was discovered in an alleyway at the above location, his body was removed to Letterkenny University Hospital where a post-mortem will take place later today."
