Police were called to the scene on Stirling Road alongside the Scottish Ambulance Service and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service at around 9.50am.

It is understood that the man, who was in his 60s, had been reported missing on Wednesday evening after failing to return from a fishing trip.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Around 9.50am on Thursday, 30 July, 2020, police recovered the body of a man in his sixties from the riverbanks of the River Carron, Larbert.

"There would appear to be no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
