THE body of a man has been discovered inside a hostel in the Scottish capital.
Emergency services were called to a hostel on Minto Street, Edinburgh, at around 11am on Monday after receiving reports of a body being found.
Officers confirmed that a 47-year-old man had died.
Police have said they are not treating the incident as suspicious and that a post mortem examination is under way to determine the cause of death.
A report is due to be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Around 11am on Monday, a 47-year-old man was found dead within a hostel in Minto Street, Edinburgh.
“A post-mortem examination will take place in due course to establish the exact cause of death which is not being treated as suspicious.
“A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
