Body of 40-year-old man found near busy dual carriageway in Glynneath

A man has died suddenly after an incident in Neath Port Talbot .

Police were called to reports of a body of a man being found near a busy road in Glynneath late on Thursday evening.

A cause of death has not been disclosed, but police are not treating it as suspicious.

The man, who not been named, was 40 years old.

South Wales Police said the deceased's family had been notified and the coroner had also been informed.

“At 10pm on Thursday, September 26 police officers responded to reports of a body being discovered near the A465 in Glynneath," a force spokesman added.

“The death of the 40-year-old local man is not considered suspicious. 

“Next of kin have been informed and a file of evidence is being prepared for HM Coroner.”

Glynneath councillor Del Morgan said: "This is an extremely sad incident and my heart goes out to the family and friends of the deceased. We are a close community and learning of news like this is devastating and a great shock to us all."
