Ranvir Singh and Giovanni Pernice romance rumours dashed with one slumped gesture

Ranvir Singh and Giovanni Pernice's body language can give us some clue as to whether they're an item, an expert has told.

The couple, who were eliminated from Strictly a week before the final, have had fans tongue-wagging since day one with their sizzling dance floor chemistry.

Some have reckoned that a romance is on the cards, especially considering they're both newly single - and despite both saying there's nothing between them but friendship.

But body language expert Judi James has dashed fans' hopes, as she claims there's little indication that they've got eyes for each other.

She notes that, during the final when they watched from the sidelines, there was a gap between the two of them.

"There were no visible attempts to bridge this physical gap with any lingering glances or knowing smiles, either," Judi told The Mirror.

She added that Gio was more interested in chatting to his Strictly pro mates, while Ranvir regularly looked directly into camera.

And their posture could indicate the same, Judi says, continuing: "When we are smitten with someone we usually adjust our posture so we display ourselves to our best advantage but both Ranvir and Gio were seen semi-slumped in their seats when the cameras picked them out.

Romance rumours have swirled (BBC)

"There was a hug between them after their group dance but it was small-fry in terms of sexual signals compared to some of the breath-taking moments they have been serving up over the last few weeks.

"If there is any ongoing relationship between these two they are clearly keeping it well under wraps right now."

Ranvir and Gio's elimination last week has proved controversial, with many fans claiming the judges should have saved them during the dance off.

Others tonight took to Twitter insisting they should have had a spot on the final.

Tonight saw Bill Bailey and Oti Mabuse lift the Glitterball Trophy, the second year in a row for pro Oti.

They faced off against Maisie Smith and Gorka Marquez, HRVY and Janette Manrara, and Jamie Laing and Karen Hauer.

"What? What? Oh my god!" a baffled Bill exclaimed when Tess Daly read out their names.

And paying a touching tribute to Oti, he said: "I have the most extraordinary teacher, the most extraordinary dancer, someone who believed in me right from the beginning.

"She found something in me and turned me into this, into a dancer, thank you Oti, I love you so much."
