A murder investigation has been launched after a body was found wrapped up in what is thought to be plastic
Police and paramedics raced to Seedley shortly after 8am after the body was discovered just off Eccles Old Road.
The road remains taped off this morning with a huge police presence in the area.
No details have been released about the age or gender of the person discovered in the "overgrown" area.
However the Manchester Evening News understands the death is being treated as suspicious as the body was found wrapped up in what is thought to be plastic.

Detective Chief Inspector Colin Larkin of GMP’s Major Incident Team, said: “Clearly, we’re looking at suspicious circumstances surrounding the discovery of the body and are doing everything we can at the scene to gather as much evidence as possible.
“This is why you’ll see a number of officers and specialist units close to Eccles Old Road and why parts of the area will be cordoned off.

“I appreciate that this news is extremely alarming for people in the local area but should anyone have any information, whether that is about what happened or whether they noticed something suspicious, they need to get in touch with us as a matter of urgency.
“We have a highly skilled team of detectives working on this case and will provide updates as and when we are able to do so but for now, I thank you for your patience that allows us to continue with our enquiries.”
Police were seen laying down sheets on the ground in the secluded area of parkland opposite Brentwood by locals this morning.
Forensic officers in white suits have arrived at the scene in the last hour and have been seen going in and out of the entrance to the woodland, which was taped off and being guarded by a uniformed officer.
One nearby resident said she saw officers talking to three young boys in school uniform shortly after police arrived.
Local residents have told the M.E.N it is often used a cut-through by people to access a nearby school and care home.

One neighbour who lives on Castleway just off Eccles Old Road said: “There were about five police cars when I looked out this morning.
"The woods next to us are quiet but people do walk through to get to the other side."
Eccles Old Road is closed with officers telling locals it could remain taped off for the rest of the day.
Diversions are in place and bus services which pass through that stretch of road have also been affected.
