Body found under Glasgow Central Station bridge as street taped off

A body has been discovered under Glasgow Central Station bridge.

Cops raced to the scene on Argyle Street after the alarm was raised at 10.20am on Monday morning.

Identification is still to take place but the death is is currently being treated as unexplained.

Officers remain at the scene.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “At 10.20am on Monday 22 April, police were alerted to reports of a man's body being found on Argyle Street in Glasgow near Central Station.

"Officers are currently in attendance carrying out enquiries into the identity of the man.

"A post mortem will be carried out in due course to establish the cause of death.

"The death is being treated as unexplained."
